Oscar Toorn Will Perform At The Phela Giving Back Family Fun Day

Mr Oscar Toorn was one of the winners of the South African 2010 Coca Cola Popstars talent search competition. Oscar became part of the band Nne Vida and with his golden voice became a huge success in the SA entertainment industry. Oscar heard about the plight of the under-priviledged children in our community and volunteered his services in making a difference. Oscar will be performing live at the Phela Giving Back Fundraising Event (Family Fun Day) to be held on the 07th July 2012 at Die Fakkel High School, Rifle Range Road, Forest Hill.

Fund Raising Event - 07th July 2012

We are currently feeding 200 under-priviliged children, but due to demand from this community, the total has increased to 400 children. We are also looking at extending the feeding scheme into other extensions in this community and we estimate that we will be feeding about 800 children within the next couple of months.

The planned event for the 16^th June 2012, unfortunately has to be postponed due to lack of support from people that we have asked to assist us. We will be having the event on the 07^th July 2012 at Die Fakkel High School, Sports Grounds, Rifle Range Road,

We are planning a section of the field for praise and worship. We need to set up a stage with a PA system, where we will invite various churches to have praise and worship. We will need a band/bands, We will need choirs and singers, dancing, etc.

We are planning a different section which will be a flea market scenario. We will be renting out tables and chairs where people are allowed to sell anything, such as foods, drinks, books, art, just about anything....like a flea market.

A third section will be dedicated to jumping castles, games, clowns, face painting, etc

WE NEED YOUR HELP IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS EVENT A SUCCESS.

These are the things that we need assistance with. Please let me know if you can help us with any of the below mentioned items:

1.       Bookings for the stalls...We will supply a table and chairs at a cost of R150.00 per stall

2.       We need church participation. We need you to invite your church leaders, church congregation, choir, band to hold a praise and worship session.

3.       Someone to help with the printing of banners and flyers.

4.       Hiring of any Jumping Castles, Balloons with Helium, Games, Candy Floss Machine, Popcorn Machine, Face Painting

5.       Any Media Connections for publicity

6.       There must be a competition on the day. We will need donations for Prizes

7.       Drummies

8.       Transport for under-priviledged children from Eldorado Park to the event and back.

9.       We need your help to get people to support us by inviting as much people to attend the event, such as inviting schools, social clubs

10.   If you are not able to attend or help with the logistics for the event, we would appreciate any form of donation in order to stage the event.

11.   Volunteering to help us on the day.
