Last week Wednesday was a very special time at the feeding scheme in Kersie Dorp. Sally Mohammed sponsored us with a half a lamb, Leila Fearick baked 100 cupcakes and Shereen Kootbaully (Shukran Sally, Leila and Shereen) volunteered to cook for this special day that we had planned for the kids. On the menu was delicious Breyani, and Orange Juice, each child got an apple and an orange as well a mouth watering cupcake. Our little mouths grew to 150 children this week and with God's wonderful mercy, we had enough food to feed everyoneSpecial thanks to Angie Griffin and Zain Fearick for making this day so special. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Eldos FM got to hear about the weekly feeding and attended the event. Angie was invited to speak about the feeding scheme on air. Special Thanks again to Shantel, Sharon and Jolene (The ladies of Mission of Hope) for their unselfish commitment to these kids. ..Here is some pic of the day...

Feeding Scheme - Kersie Dorp
Yesterday, the staff members of Phela Construction and some family members (specially thanks to Zain, Lee-Ryle and Aliyah) started the Phela Giving Back feeding scheme. We selected the children of Kersie Dorp as our first feeding scheme project. We collaborated with Shantel Sinclair and her sister Sharon who provided a venue for the distribution and helped us with the feeding. Shantel and Sharon feeds these kids every week. They both don't have a sustainable income and feeds these children out of their own pockets every week. Shantel told me that these children don't get a warm meal at all and the meal that they provide is probably the only hot meal that they eat, the entire week..These ladies are truly god-send and our prays are with them. Phela Construction has given a commitment to assist them every week to lift some of the load from them. We will be expending the feeding scheme to other areas within Eldorado Park very soon. Here are some pics of yesterdays event.
